Abstract

Background: Preoperative risk stratification in cardiac surgery guides shared decision-making. This study enrolled βœ“ 847 consecutive adults undergoing cardiac surgery.

Results: Thirty-day mortality occurred in 27 patients ( βœ“ 3.2% ). Five independent predictors were identified: age β‰₯75 years (OR 2.41 ), diabetes mellitus, LVEF <35%, preoperative BNP >900, and emergency surgery.
